nor additional costs incurred for this.
Koh Tao offers year round diving and most operations
are open 12 months a year. We experience a monsoon season,
usually starting at the end of October, and running through
the whole of November. A shorter, period of monsoon weather
is usually experienced in May. The great thing about these
times is due to the increased plankton in the water Whaleshark
are attracted to the waters around the island. Expect to see
these magnificent creatures during the months of April and
May, and again during October and November.
Koh Tao offers a diverse range of marine
life. Expect to see schools of Chevron & Yellow tail Barracuda’s,
Jacks, Travellys as well as Giant Barracuda and Bull Sharks
at the deeper outlying sites. Closer to the island we see
different species of Stingray, Angel Fish and Moray Eels as
well as Green & Hawksbill turtles. And for those of you
that are interested in macro filming Koh Tao has loads of
smaller stuff such as goby shrimps, crabs, cleaner fish and
much more.
